Part 1 of this series covered methods 1-8 on how to build a huge community for your blog. In Part 2, we will go through the remaining 7 tips Insha’Allah.
9) Participate in Social Sharing Communities
There’s more to sharing that Facebook and Twitter. Social sharing communities such as Reddit and Stumble upon gives you additional ways to share your blog and get your name out there. They tend to be as or more effective than popular networking sites because on Facebook you are probably limited to promoting your blog to friends only unless you pay to narrow down. Being a part of these communities can also give you additional ideas or titles to write blog posts on.
10) Format your content
Formatting your content can be an effective way to build a huge blog community because it makes your writing look more visually appealing. Neglecting to format your work is like showing up to an interview with a pair of sweatpants and t-shirt. It is the first impression and should not be seriously taken into consider by readers, but it is all the time. Readers will stay away from blogs that appear to have endless paragraphs or short and choppy sentences.
11) Have great titles
Having great title for your blog and all of your posts is essential to getting readers to stay on your page. Your title should be short and straight to the point but it should also be catchy. This can be somewhat flexible at times, but that’s the general rule to go by. You want your reader to have an idea of what the post will be about, and to feel as though you will add a unique twist to it.
12) Add graphics and illustrations
Adding graphics, illustrations, or photographs can build a huge blog community because you are setting yourself apart from other blogs and you can show the readers who you are or what you stand for, before they even start reading. Graphics, illustrations, and pictures are also important because people are visual. If you can aesthetically appease them, they have every reason to think that you can evoke thoughts or emotions through your writing as well.
13) Add a signature line
Including your own special signature can increase a blog community because you can make yours recognizable and different. It also is a great way to promote your work on other websites and blogs. People will begin to see your signature and automatically recognize that the content is from you.
14) Be consistent
If you have spent months and months on your blog, and still don’t have the amount of subscribers you had hoped for – don’t stop writing. You can ruin the efforts you have made if you decide to stop updating or posting.
15) Don’t give up
If you are having writers block or just a bad day, put it up and start again the next day. Check out my other post on 21 practical solutions to overcoming writer’s block.
Overall: Our Ummah wasn’t built in one day, and neither will your blog. The increase of traffic on your site requires hard work, determination, and willingness to get your content out there. With these tips you’ll be well on your way to a big blog and. if your trying, big bucks Insha’Allah.
Make du’a to Allah before you start and all throughout – you will find that it is rewarding when you are finally recognized for all of your hard work, not because you want the fame but because you want others to benefit.
