How Can Muslim Bloggers Use Google Buzz + Q&A? [Discussion]

So Google Buzz just launched and I’m trying to figure out how to use it productively. Anyone care to chime in with thoughts on how Buzz can help Muslim bloggers do their jobs more successfully? Or do you think it’s something that can’t really be used effectively?
Update: I found 2 WordPress plugins that were already made – amazing. I don’t know how good they are. Google Buzz ER and Simple Buzz
Update 2: I tried out the Buzz plugins. Simple Buzz wouldn’t get up and running. Google Buzz ER worked fine with some tweaking but Buzzes look really weird when not taken into context.
Update 3: I found a very useful guide to Google Buzz. Look through it to get your questions answered and learn some neat tips and tricks. You can find the guide here.
I also want to get a list of questions going many of us might have. Please post questions and answers in the comments section below. I will put your name and a link to your blog if your answer is selected:
- How can you send people private Buzzes?
- Can Buzzes be organized into categories?
- How do you keep Buzzes out of our inbox?
Set up a Gmail filter that searches for the word “Buzz” in the subject line. In the next step, set it to Mark As Read and Skip Inbox. That’s it. - Is there a way to block other people? (ANSWERED by Arif)
Click the name of the person. On the next screen, select “Block [name]”
- Can you do a search within Buzzes?
Once you are in the Buzzes page, the search bar up top automatically switches to “Search Buzz”.
- Can you share contacts with other people?
- What does “Mute this post” do?
- How do I completely turn Buzz off?
Go to the bottom of the Gmail page and click “turn off buzz”
- Why and how is Buzz choosing the people that I follow? (ANSWERED by Arif)
They automatically select the list from your contacts and people that you’ve emailed.
- Who can see my comments?
By default, all your comments are public and can be seen by anyone. - Is there a way to make it so that ONLY my followers can see my comments?
- Your question here…

Answer to Question 3: Set up a filter in Gmail that searches for the word buzz in the subject line. Have it mark as read and archive. You’ll still get your Buzzes in the right place Insha’Allah – just not in your email inbox.
Answer to Question 5: The search bar at the top automatically switch to “Search Buzz” once you go to the Buzz page.
Answer to Question 8: Go to the bottom of Gmail and click “turn off buzz”
You block others by clicking on their profiles and pressing “block” lol.
9: They automatically select the list from your contacts and people that you’ve emailed.
I plan on (trying) to use Buzz to get quick responses to ideas for blog posts.
They have http://skribit.com/ if you’re interested in getting suggestions from readers on your blog.
is there any way to unmute a post? i accidentally muted one (by clicking “m”).
Not sure but you can try search for keywords in your All Mail. If you find it then you should be able to unmute it. I think?
